section 7I felt a soft and familiar hand on my shoulder. Good the woman and the cat was just A dream. I couldn’t open my eyes. I couldn’t breathe I could only sob and stay still. While I lay there the women called for someone and muttered something about me when they arrived. Wait… I listened some more… how does..how does she know my name?    Darkness. That’s all I could see and feel. I must have passed out. Evidently I was still crying but I felt a hand rubbing my back, “It’s okay Rose, sweetie. Everything is alright now. Your safe, your home.” section 7

section 6It was dark in the back room and the air was almost too damp to breathe. something felt different…something looked different; but I couldn’t put my finger on it…so instead I put my finger on the light switch. The room lit up before I had a chance to even flip the switch. I automatically fell to the ground under the old dining room table. A pair of feet walked in followed by the pitter patter of paws. Oh please, God, please don’t let that cat find me. All I could hear now was my heart beating in my eardrums and the faint voice of the hag who was talking to the cat. section 6

section 5        As usual I let my curiosity get the best of me and I approached the house. A single marigold grew near the steps while the rest of the ground was burnt and crispy. A sign of hope. The closer I got to the house the stronger the smell of mold and cheap perfume grew…I suppose that’s odd…I thought…No smells of liquor and baked spaghetti. Slowly tip-toeing up the stairs. I drew a long breath. Exhaled. And knocked… section 5

As i wish upon a star,
question if i should care where you are.
The embers burning of my soal,
dieing, longing to be whole.
Im longing for some one to love and hold,
some that i call my own.
Someone who would wish the same.
I used to regret and long for you,
but then i realized, my search was through.
Because when i look into his eyes,
i see love more passionate than the brilliant night sky.
